OBJECTIVE
The symposium is an academic research conference in the area of macroeconomics. It is primarily aimed at promoting frontier contributions by junior macroeconomic researchers. A connection to the Nordic countries is an advantage but not a prerequisite. The symposium allows the junior researchers to present and discuss their research and to receive advice and constructive criticism from more senior macroeconomic scholars.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Claudio Michelacci, CEMFI Madrid

TOPICS
Papers on all topics broadly associated with macroeconomics are welcome including "standard" macroeconomic analysis (real and monetary business cycles, labor markets, growth etc.) and issues such as public finance, human capital accumulation, firm dynamics, asset pricing, heterogeneous agents, income distribution, credit markets and political economy.

PRESENTATION FORMAT
35 minutes presentation, 15 minutes discussion and 10 minutes general discussion for each paper.

PROGRAM
Program 2015.

VENUE
The conference venue is Smögens hafvsbad in beautiful Smögen on the Swedish westcoast. The only disadvantage is transportation. It is located 250 km south of Oslo international airport. An alternative is to go to Gothenburg with a trainstation and a smaller airport, 150 km south of Smögen. A From Gothenburg there are buses but a shared rental care may be something to consider both from Oslo and Gothenburg. It is possible to drive from Stockholm, but count on 6 hours. Renting a car at e.g., Gothenburg airport should be approximately 150 euros, which is OK if you share 3-4 people. Oslo is more expensive so check with us first. Please sign up for the Normac Facebook group to coordinate on sharing cars.

WHO SHOULD APPLY
The conference is primarily created to promote and facilitate the work of junior researchers. Researchers with an interest in or connection to the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden) are particularly appreciated but the call is open to all junior applicants. Junior refers to those about to graduate from a PhD program, assistant professors, and recently tenured senior professors.
