12th Nordic Summer Symposium in
Macroeconomics and Finance |
Bjørnefjorden,
Norway, August 9.-12.2018 Deadline: April 20 |
Objective
The symposium is an academic research conference in
the area of macroeconomics and finance, primarily aimed at promoting frontier
contributions by junior macroeconomic researchers. The symposium allows the
junior researchers to present and discuss their research and to receive advice
and constructive feedback from more senior macroeconomic scholars.
Who Should Apply: junior researchers in macroeconomics
“Junior” refers to those about to graduate from a PhD
program, assistant professors, and recently tenured senior professors. A
connection to the Nordic countries is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
Topics
Papers on all topics broadly associated with
macroeconomics are welcome – including “standard” macroeconomic analysis (real
and monetary business cycles, labor markets, growth
etc.), as well as issues such as public finance, human capital accumulation,
firm dynamics, asset pricing, heterogeneous agents, income distribution, credit
markets and political economy.
Location and Travel
Solstrand Hotel lies on the shores
of Bjørnefjorden, 30km south of Bergen, Norway.
The hotel is in Os. Get to Os by ferry from Bergen
Airport (Flesland) or by
local bus from Bergen bus station. Solstrand is walking
distance (or a short taxi trip) from “downtown” Os.
